What We Believe

The Westside church of Chirst in Waldron Arkansas is a group of believers in Christ striving to work and worship together as a New Testament local church. Our purpose is to provide an environment in which Christians can grow and flourish into the image of Jesus Christ (Ephesians 4:16). Additionally, we work together in spreading the Gospel of Christ to our friends, family, and neighbors. Our aim is that they, too, receive the forgiveness of sins and the hope of eternal life (Acts 2:38-42).

Our Worship Service

Worship is a privilege which God has given us to express our deep adoration for His love, mercy, and power. We take seriously the opportunity we have to worship together. It is our pleasure to welcome you to these services. We want you to know what we are doing in these periods of worship.

Acapella, congregational singing is one feature of worship which God desires. The New Testament teaches us to sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to edify each other and glorify God and Christ (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16). Our song director will announce the selections he chooses and you can find them in our book, Sacred Selections For The Church.

Prayer will be offered by one of the men, as he leads and directs all of our thoughts together (1 Timothy 2:1-4).

A collection will be taken from our members as a means of supporting our work. Early Christians did this each Sunday, too (1 Corinthians 16:1,2). Visitors are under no obligation whatsoever to contribute to this collection.

The Lord’s Supper will be offered to all Christians in memory of the death and sacrifice of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 11:23-26).

A sermon will be preached that exalts the Word of God above the will of man. The speaker will refer to the Scriptures as the inerrant, infallible word of God (2 Timothy 3:16, 17). You are encouraged to use your own Bible and follow along. At the conclusion of the sermon, anyone wishing to become a Christian, or Christians desiring the prayers of the church will be given opportunity to do so.
